Now, more than ever, consumers across the world are looking for more convenient ways to gain access to the goods and services they need without coming in contact with other individuals. With the COVID-19 climate continuing to evolve on what seems like a weekly basis, it’s hard to say when things will feel like they're back to normal, but one way long-term care pharmacies can help consumers during these uncertain times is by utilizing remote dispensing machines for medications.

We’re continuing to adapt to these unprecedented times without clear indication of if and when things will feel normal again. From the perspective of long-term care (LTC) facilities and pharmacies, the pandemic strikes a particularly unique chord. Not only is the industry facing financial pressures amidst declining admission rates, but the emotional and physical toll of the COVID-19 climate is profoundly impacting frontline workers and pharmacy staff.

Our support team is occasionally contacted by clients who are experiencing slow performance in RxPertise Standard during an import, statistics generation, or while creating a backup. Upon review, we sometimes find that a single and very large database is in use to store all facility data. Depending on the functionality of the laptop in use, the need to sift through large amounts of data to perform these tasks can greatly increase the time required.

While we face the uncertainty of the current times, one thing is for certain – we still have patients to serve. SoftWriters is making it our priority to help customers navigate this new normal while introducing new ways to manage the demands of the pharmacy.
